The internationally active architecture company Berger+Parkkinen Architekten was founded in 1995 by Alfred Berger and Tiina Parkkinen. The practice is headquartered in Vienna (AT), with additional offices in Helsinki (FI) and, most recently, in Doha (QA).
The firm’s portfolio spans urban planning and public buildings with a focus on education, culture, and sports, as well as residential and commercial projects. Interior architecture and design complete the office’s comprehensive range of services. Clients include both public institutions and private developers. Berger+Parkkinen Architekten has extensive experience as general planners across all project phases.
In 2021, the office was awarded the Austrian State Prize for Architecture and Sustainability. Their projects have received numerous other international awards, including the Architecture Prize of the State of Salzburg and a finalist position for the prestigious Mies van der Rohe Award.
Regular lectures and exhibitions in major cities across Europe, India, Mexico, and the United States—as well as invitations to the Venice Architecture Biennale, the London Architecture Biennale, and Aedes Architecture Forum in Berlin—underscore the international reputation of the team. Berger+Parkkinen’s work is also regularly featured in leading architectural publications, books, and media outlets around the world.
