Tiina Parkkinen was the keynote speaker at the Finnish Architectural and Concrete Award Conference in Helsiki on January 25.
The award conference for the best Finnish concrete building is an important event in Finland in the field of architectural construction, organized by the Finnish magazine Betoni. Around 500 Finnish architects, architecture students and engineers were invited as the audience.
The award has been presented since the early 1990s and Tiina Parkkinen joins a long line of highly prominent architects from all over the world. Guests have included Tadao Ando, Santiago Calatrava, James Stirling, Daniel Libeskind, Zaha Hadid, Frans de Witte from MVRDV Architects, Juan Bautista Frigerio, partner at Foster+Partners, Snøhetta Architects, Kai Uwe Bergmann from BIG Architects and, last year, Hector Mendoza from Mendoza Partida Architectural Studio.
